Mindartis knows Lady Velrosa from a couple of years ago. He definitely wants to attend the party and ask her some questions about how things have been since he was gone — especially how it has been between the elves and the humans after he brokered a peace treaty. Peace. Such a fragile thing.

Mindartis remained in Nightstone while the others climbed. With Lady Nandar dead and her daughter newly installed in a ruined keep, the village had need of someone who understood politics and logistics — and Mindartis had contacts here, old connections from the diplomatic work that had brought him to Nightstone years before. He stayed to help coordinate the recovery effort.
